Cuyabeno - Provincia de SucumbĂos

The humid, fecund and bewildering Ecuadorian Amazon. Fed by the Aguarico River, later flowing into the Napo River and lastly the Peruvian Amazon, before its winds another 3,000km into the Atlantic Ocean.

Once travelled by Francisco Pizzaro and Francisco de Orellana, before a quarrel separated them. Orellana made it to the Brazilian coast on his first expedition.

He was lost on his second, his body never found.
